A visit to Children’s Museum in Easton
Some days, you’re desperate to get out of the house and find a way to entertain your little ones. That was me yesterday. My 3-year-old daughter her sidekick (my 3-year-old nephew) had more energy that could be contained in my home so we headed to the Children’s Museum in Easton.
It had been a few years since I had made the 40-minute drive to this establishment but from what I remembered it had three floors of potential fun. And when I (re)disover something fun, I want to pass it on….
Housed in an old fire house, it has a quaint feel - like you’re visiting Grandma’s house. After paying the small admission fee ($6 per person, babies under the age of 1 are free), the kids were off playing in the make believe haven. There was a performance booth complete with ticket booth, make up room and stage, a child-size wooden ship, train set and the ever-captivating golf contraption - put a golf ball in a tube and watch it travel through a maze. Upstairs, there is a doctor’s office, woodshop, art center, post office, fire station….should I go on? And downstairs, in their Fetch Lab, my little ones made their own ice cream.
Since it was a nice day outside, the kids and I decided to walk through the outdoor museum park called the Wild Place. They climbed the two-story tree house and search for dinasour fossils in the sand.
You can tell that the staff takes pride in their establishment. They were helpful, friendly and happily interacted with their many guests.
Yeah - I liked it (a lot). Be sure to check out their upcoming events the next time you need to get out of your house and into someone else’s.
